PARSEC (PARallaxes of Southern Extremely Cool objects)
This program started in 2007 is based on observations made with the Wide Field Imager on the ESO 2.2m telescope and targeting mainly L0-T2 objects.
The observing time came intially from Brazilian ON/MCT allocation (PI A. Andrei), then via an ESO program (PI R. Smart), and, finally MPIA time (PI B. Goldman). The target list started out with 140 objects, we expect to get a good parallax for the ~90 objects with over 10 observations.
The Brazilian time has finished, ESO time will not be re-requested and the MPIA time will only be used to finish those objects with a borderline observational history. |
